What habits have you established, while always being told that a storm will come?

The scriptures preach war, destruction, and all manner of storms.

But there is always a promise to if you stay the course you will prevail.

It doesn't mean it will be fun.

It doesn't mean you'll feel alone.

It just means you have what it takes to not give up.

When Lehi was chased out of Jerusalem, he taught his children to keep a record.

We knew that many other skill sets, like hunting that was used repeatedly throughout their lives in the desert.

But I always come back to: They kept a record. Cities, nations and the world has benefited from those who kept recordings, "according to their own knowledge."

And it's no different today.

I've been thinking, what if I spent 7 minutes a day keeping a record.

How many other people could I impact?

How much more impact could I have on MYSELF if I strengthened the skill to keep a record?

Embracing the wisdom of those who have weathered storms throughout history, we find a timeless call to action echoing through the ages. The power lies not just in enduring the tempests but in leaving behind a record of resilience, a testament to the strength within.

Consider this: What habits have you forged, knowing that storms will inevitably sweep through your life? The scriptures, a repository of ancient wisdom, speak of wars, destruction, and the tumult of life. Yet, amidst the chaos, there is a resounding promise that if you persevere, you will prevail. It's not a pledge of an easy journey, nor a guarantee that loneliness won't creep in. It's a recognition that within you resides the fortitude to persist, to stand resilient against the gales.

Reflect on the tale of Lehi, forced to flee Jerusalem, who imparted a crucial lesson to his children—to keep a record. In the barren wilderness, they utilized various skills, like hunting, repeatedly, but the enduring strength lay in the simple act of recording. Cities, nations, and the world at large have reaped the benefits of those who, according to their own knowledge, meticulously chronicled their experiences.

Now, ponder this: What if you dedicated a mere 7 minutes each day to keeping a record? Imagine the ripple effect—how many lives could you touch, how many souls could be inspired by your story? The impact goes beyond the immediate; it extends to the profound influence you could exert on yourself. Strengthening the skill of recording is not just a gift to others; it's a gift to your future self—a compass guiding you through the storms yet to come.

Therefore, let this be your call to action. Embrace the ancient wisdom that has stood the test of time. Dedicate those 7 minutes daily to the noble art of keeping a record. Share your triumphs, your struggles, and your growth. In doing so, you become a beacon of resilience, a source of inspiration for others navigating their storms. And remember, in empowering others, you fortify yourself. It's a virtuous cycle, a testament to the enduring power of recording one's journey.

So, as you take pen to paper or fingers to keyboard, know that you're not just creating a record; you're crafting a legacy—a testament to the indomitable spirit within you and an offering of strength to those who will follow in your footsteps. The storms will come, but so will the triumphs, and your record will be a guiding light through it all.

Disclaimer: Weathering life's storms requires a blend of resilience, adaptability, and self-care. Here are five ways to navigate challenging times:

  • Cultivate a Strong Support System: Surround yourself with a network of supportive friends, family, or mentors. Share your thoughts and feelings with those you trust. Sometimes, weathering a storm becomes more manageable when you have a reliable support system to lean on. Don't hesitate to seek professional help if needed.

  • Practice Mindfulness and Self-Reflection: Develop mindfulness practices, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, to stay grounded in the present moment. Use self-reflection as a tool for understanding your emotions and responses to adversity. Mindfulness can provide clarity and help you approach challenges with a calmer mindset.

  • Set Realistic Goals and Prioritize Tasks: Break down your challenges into smaller, more manageable goals. Establishing a step-by-step plan can make daunting tasks feel less overwhelming. Prioritize your tasks based on urgency and importance. Celebrate small victories along the way, as they contribute to a sense of progress and accomplishment.

  • Embrace Adaptability and Flexibility: Life is inherently unpredictable, and storms often bring unexpected changes. Develop a mindset of adaptability and flexibility. Be open to adjusting your plans and expectations when necessary. This resilience will help you navigate uncertainties with greater ease.

  • Engage in Self-Care Rituals: Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation, whether it's exercise, reading, spending time in nature, or pursuing a creative outlet. Adequate sleep, a balanced diet, and regular exercise contribute to overall resilience, helping you face challenges with a stronger foundation.

Remember, each storm is unique, and these strategies can be adapted to suit your specific circumstances. It's essential to be patient with yourself and recognize that weathering the storm is a process that involves both strength and vulnerability.
